| Daniel Szparaga is Associate Vice President in the Commercial/Multifamily Business Group of the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA), where he focuses on technology and emerging financial products. Szparaga provides MBA members with strategic information on opportunities for innovation in commercial real estate finance.
Szparaga also is the staff representative to the Technology Initiatives Committee of MBA's Commercial/Multifamily Board of Governors (COMBOG), the Mortgage Industry Standards Maintenance Organization (MISMO) commercial data standards program, and the Secure Identity Services Accreditation Corporation's (SISAC) accreditation program.
Szparaga's previous experience includes 10 years in the multifamily housing division at Freddie Mac, where he worked on e-commerce strategy and systems development, public finance transactions, risk-management and credit policy development, new loan product development, loan originations and real estate-owned (REO) asset management.
Szparaga also has financed tax-credit properties with Enterprise Mortgage Investments Inc. and liquidated failed savings and loans as an asset manager with the Federal Savings & Loan Insurance Corp. He received a bachelor's degree in history from Loyola College and master's degree in computer systems management from the University of Maryland.
